Brian M. Patterson

Carlos Maldonado received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D degrees in Mechanical Engineering from University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. He is currently the project lead of the Experiment for Space Radiation Analysis (ESRA) mission in the Intelligence and Space Research Division at Los Alamos National Laboratory. In addition to his work on ESRA, he is an instrument scientist on the Interstellar Mapping and Acceleration Probe (IMAP) energetic neutral atom imager (IMAP-Hi) and is the PI for a NASA H-TIDeS compact ion mass spectrometer. Prior to LANL, he was a research scientist at the Space Physics and Atmospheric Research Center located at the United States Air Force Academy. While there he served as a senior scientist for nearly a dozen DoD and Air Force payloads such as plasma spectrometers, a membrane photon sieve, and improved space situational awareness.
