Angelo Ferreira Chora

Ângelo Ferreira Chora graduated from Microbiology and Genetics by the Faculdade de Ciências, Uni. Lisboa., in 1997, and is the holder of a Doctor of Philosophy degree, since 2008, in Biomedical Sciences by the Faculdade de Medicina, Uni. Lisboa. Ângelo Ferreira Chora has developed his research in prestigious host institutions, both national and international. Of notice, he had a two-year training period in Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA, after which he initiated his graduate studies in the Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência, Oeiras, under the scientific supervision of Dr. Miguel Soares, a leading expert in disease tolerance mechanisms. After completion, Ângelo Ferreira Chora moved to Instituto de Medicina Molecular, Lisbon, where he concluded in 2013 a successful post-doctoral period in the laboratory of Dr. Luís Moita. At present, he is a senior post-doctoral fellow in the unit of Prof. Maria M. Mota, a world-renowned specialist in malaria, with the main interest in exploring the intricate relationship between Plasmodium spp and its mammalian host, with a special emphasis on the establishment and progression of immunological dysfunction associated to malarial infection
