Anand R Gopal

Anand R. Gopal received the B.S. degree in civil engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Chennai, India, in 1999, the M.S. degree in environmental systems engineering from the Humboldt State University, Arcata, CA, USA, in 2003, and the Ph.D. degree in energy and resources from the University of California, Berkeley, CA, USA, 2011. He is currently a Research Scientist with the International Energy Studies Group, Energy Technologies Area (ETA), Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), Berkeley, CA, USA. He is the Deputy Leader for ETA’s Sustainable Transportation Energy Program. He serves on the Transportation Advisory Board of Prospect Silicon Valley. He has almost a decade of research experience in engineering, economics, and policy related to transportation energy and renewable energy systems. He is a Lead of the LBNL’s global research on the economics, markets, and policy aspects of electric vehicles as part of his work for the Electric Vehicle Initiative of the Clean Energy Ministerial. He was a Research Engineer with the Schatz Energy Research Center, Humboldt State University, and a Guest Scientist with the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, Potsdam, Germany.
