Alfonso Sánchez-Macián received the MSc and PhD degrees in telecommunications engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Madrid, Spain, in 2000 and 2007, respectively. He has worked as a lecturer and a researcher with several universities such as the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, the IT Innovation Centre, University of Southampton, Southampton, U.K., and the Universidad Antonio de Nebrija, Madrid, where he is currently a part of the ARIES Research Center. He previously worked in numerous national and multinational companies as a project manager and senior consultant for IT projects. His current research interests include non-functional properties of the systems, including security, fault-tolerance and reliability.
